Anglezark Amble – 08 February

A cold windy day, very wet underfoot but almost everyone got round the 24.5 miles before the rain arrived. This was the 40th running, or walking for most entrants, of a classic LDWA event. Although it isn’t the first of the year it always seems like the first gathering of the year for both walkers and runners as we emerge from winter training and Christmas Excess, although that was a month or more ago. Today essentially proved that I can either run or take photographs but not both. Life sometimes seems to be a losing battle against aging and wear’n’tear. Some of the latter might be containable with less arduous training but that has a price too. Ah well, it is good to get out nevertheless and that matters more than anything.
