Rivington Pike – 29 March (Easter Friday)

Not a normal day on “The Pike” by any means but there is a long standing tradition of walking “Up The Pike” on Easter Friday, for good luck or, perhaps, for the Fair. The Fair is smaller, more sober and far less boisterous than it was in its day but judging by the number of young people about {easier to say as you get older :~)} the tradition is being maintained.

Tomorrow will be something of a contrast when the runners in the Rivington Pike fell race run up and down here. Unlike last year I’ll be heading for some bigger hills, a little further north.
