I thought I had recovered from last week’s maladies but the first climb to Bessyboot put me right and I knew then it was going to be a long day, a long day and one that might finish short of 17 miles.

The results are here and I finished, just ahead of my slowest time ever but I finished and was very pleased to meet John Millen and Mike Troup who were previously only “virtual friends” as was Neil Campbell who came over to say hello.
